In situations where a water sample needs to be collected in sandy or gravely soils, the Mill Slotted Groundwater Sampler is the tool of choice. It is also used for the collection of water in previously cored holes.
The sampler is a vertically slotted drill rod with a drive point at the end. The water flows into the probe
rod and can be recovered with a peristaltic pump and tubing, inertia pump and tubing, or by a mini-bailer. When
using the Mill Slotted Sampler, the probe rod must remain in the ground until the sampling is completed.
