News & Projects
For the past 20 years, ESN Northwest has been providing analytical
and drilling support on a variety of environmental projects, ranging
from a single lead analysis in water to a three month long mobile lab
project; and ranging from a single direct push sampling project to
multi-month well installation and remediation projects. Listed below are
some of the larger representative projects that have been completed over
the last 3 years, and a few older projects which help demonstrate the
range of our capabilities.
A summary of recent projects completed by ESN Northwest:
- Facility: Crystal Mountain Ski Resort - Puget Sound Energy
- Date Conducted: November through December 2006, June 2007
- Scope of Work: ESN Northwest was part of a 6 week long emergency
cleanup operation providing Mobile Laboratory services for Puget Sound Energy on Crystal
Mountain Resort. The mobile lab analyzed soil and water samples for diesel fuel and volatile
compounds.
- Consultant: GeoEngineers
- Facility: Time Oil Remediation Sites - Sunnyside, Colville, Kingston
- Date Conducted: Three applications 5/13/2008 through 11/10/2008, with follow-ups
3/11/2009 - 10/18/2009
- Scope of Work: Injection of RegenOx and ORC product
- Consultant: Sound Environmental Strategies
- Facility: Firestation #38, City of Seattle
- Date Conducted: Three applications 8/14/2008 - 3/1/2009, 12-15 days per visit
- Scope of Work: Injection of RegenOx and ORC product into 42 locations per visit
- Consultant: Shannon & Wilson
- Facility: Tongue Point Multisite Project - Astoria, Oregon
- Date Conducted: September 10-26, 2008
- Scope of Work: ESN Northwest's responsibilities for this project included
Direct Push drilling, soil sampling, microwell/soil gas probe installation and concrete coring
for multiple sites in Astoria, Oregon.
- Consultant: CDM Federal
- Facility: City of Olympia - WSDOT
- Date Conducted: October 30, 2008 - December 1, 2008
- Scope of Work: ESN Northwest provided Direct Push drilling for soil and groundwater
sampling, 2" monitoring well instatllation with auger drill for water collection, and analysis of soil
and groundwater for VOCs, SVOCs, PAHs, and metals.
- Consultant: GeoEngineers
- Facility: New City Hall in Olympia, Washington
- Date Conducted: November 2007 - Present
- Scope of Work: ESN Northwest took soil and groundwater samples by Direct Push
drilling, including use of our Limited Access Rig (tractor mounted). Soil and groundwater samples
were analyzed for contaminants such as Petroleum Products, VOCs, PAHs, and metals.
- Consultant: Brown & Caldwell
- Facility: Clampitt's Cleaners - Mercer Island, Washington
- Date Conducted: February 21-26, 2010
- Scope of Work: 7000 lbs of EHC product into 2500
gallons of water, injected into 29 locations over 6 work days
- Consultant: Hart Crowser Inc.
- Facility: CRO Monitoring Wells and Soil Sampling
Project, Department of Ecology - Multiple sites in Central Washington
- Date Conducted: July 2010 through December 2010
- Scope of Work: Investigate 10 sites in Central
Washington, adding monitoring wells where needed; chemistry for all
soils and waters (competitive bid)
- Consultant: ESN Northwest was the General
Contractor, with subcontracted consulting to Kane Environmental
- Facility: Everett Community College, Index Hall Remediation
- Date Conducted: December 2010 through March 2011
- Scope of Work: Inject RegenOx into 39 holes in a
tight formation in 3 seperate events (competitive bid)
- Consultant: ESN Northwest was the General
Contractor, and PBS Environmental consultants provided oversite.
